    The Murray looks as though it was cut into four slices!

      Yes… you’re right. It was, sort of. Although the slices didn’t go all the way through the ‘cake’. I believe this was a common practice when buildings of the Murray’s vintage were built — it was a way to get greater air circulation in a day before there was air conditioning, as I understand it.
